The Pop Tops- Mamy Blue

The single was written in 1970 by Hubert Giraud with original lyrics in French, and became No.1 in France performed by Nicoletta. In 1971 the song was released by Pop-Tops with English lyrics written by Phil Trim, and became an international hit. Other versions of song were performed by Ricky Shayne, Roger Whittaker and many other artists.

Pop-Tops performed also an Italian version of this single, reaching also a big appreciation.

The English version of Pop-Tops reached No.1 in Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and France. A Spanish version performed also by Pop-Tops reached No.1 in Spain too. Although wasn’t reached No.1 in Greece, it was a hit single there too, being sold more than 50 000 copies.
