Meet Boeing 747, one of the biggest aircrafts in the world. This enormous bird is mostly used in long haul flights. It’s design is highly recognizable, with the second floor forming a hump. The aviation industry demanded a new and sophisticated aircraft that will be big enough to have many passengers onboard and also serve as cargo plane. And that’s how this jumbo jet was born. For now the 747 has been involved in 132 accidents.
The Boeing 747 is an American made wide-body aircraft. It is used as a jet airliner and cargo aircraft. "Boeing commercial airplanes" produced this big boy to meet the needs of air travel, that were increasing in the 1960s. On January 15, 1970, this aircraft was featured on Pan Am's New York–London route. It had it's first flight on February 9, 1969.
The Boeing 747 is a large, wide-body airliner with four wing-mounted engines.Wide body means it had two aisles in aircraft cabin.
It's wings have a sweep angle that provides a fast and efficient cruise. The upper deck was mostly designed for first class, but it is also helpful if the plane is used for cargo. Seating capacity is more than 366 with a 3–4–3 seat arrangement in economy class and a 2–3–2 arrangement in first class.
