With Cindy away, Kelly’s only link would be Rosa. By hanging with Rosa Kelly could learn what Cindy was doing, how she was, feeling himself becoming a part of Cindy’s life.
Through his linking with Rosa, dating her accidentally, they did get closer. He acted as if he was there to support Rosa, not that he was in love with Cindy.
