Having flowers in the front of the house

Our village is mulling a project of requiring residents to have ornamental plants in the front of their property. Usually the sidewalks in secondary roads are not concrete that it can be made into a small garden. The sidewalk in front of our house has some small trees but they can be removed if the project is approved.

Flowers by the road will make the place attractive especially if the flowers are popular like the rose and mums. I guess that is a nice project although I don’t know how to say goodbye to my cashew tree.
