Bringing in the wild

Roses were once considered to be wild too and today they have a pride of place in many gardens.  This tiger claw (Gloriosa superba) is still considered wild but not for me. I picked it up from the roadside and it has now decided to stay and proliferate. 

It loves water and no sooner rains arrive I see creepers showing up all over the place. Their tender leaves are food for caterpillars and caterpillars can destroy the whole plant.  I have kept a vigil and today I do not have caterpillars in our garden. 

I have brought in a few other wildflowers and see no reason why they should not have a pride of place in any garden.
