Katherine finally realised that Marvin had packed and left. She called his cell phone, it went to voice mail.
She tried to deduce where he had gone, but thought to wait until tomorrow. He might be back, he might have a good reason. She went to bed and somehow fell asleep.
In the morning, when she woke, she phoned Marvin, again it was direct to voice mail.
She searched the house to see if he left a note; she didn’t see one. She had missed her run doing her search, so got ready for work.
Katherine pushed her private life to the corners, as usual. The fact her husband might have left her for good would be thought about when she was home.
