The anniversary of Brenda’s being passed over as Attending arrived.
During the year, Brenda had logged more hours as Mommy, than Doctor. For the first time, since Brenda became a Resident at the Hospital, she spent more time at home than at the hospital.
She had more life, more energy and felt as she had when she entered college.
Never before, never since the day she became a medical student until last year when she was removed as attending, had Brenda had a life.
A real life where she could go shopping and visiting and see movies and have real working hours so that she could be in bed by ten p.m. and awake at 6 am and eat breakfast, and talk with her husband.
