When I think of independence, then I have to think about Shreveport, Louisiana because the Independence Bowl has been a yearly thing since 1976, 200 years after the USA gained independence from the British in 1776. This year’s Walk-On’s Bistreaux and Bar Independence Bowl will be between the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (9-3) and the Miami (FL) Hurricanes (6-6). This game will be played at the Independence Stadium.
This game will almost be like a home game for the Bulldogs since the stadium is about an hour away from where Louisiana Tech is located. Plus, Walk-On’s is owned by Drew Brees. Tech is looking to bounce back after barely missing out on participating in the Conference USA Championship Game by losing two out of their last three games.
Miami (FL) has experienced a rollercoaster season, but they salvaged their season by winning six of their eight games during the middle of the season.
