Did you know that in the year 1912-1948, a painting was part of an Olympic event?
Sculpture, architecture, music, and also literature were part of the Olympic competition. The first person and the only Olympian in history to win medals for shooting and sculpture was an American named Walter Winans. He was one of the two people in history who had reunited Muscle and Mind in the Olympics.
The other one was a Hungarian named Alfred Hajos who won 2 medals in swimming in 1896, and then 28 years later won a silver medal in architecture for a design of a swimming stadium. The aforementioned Olympic events were abolished in 1949 because nearly all entrants were professional.
