As you drive up to or leave the Oconaluftee Visitor Center in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on the North Carolina side you see the great flat meadow. Here you can see a herd of wild Elk feeding in the early morning or at sunset. The meadow is unusual because it is surrounded by hills and mountains all around for miles. Separating the meadow from the Mountain village and farm is a pathway and this lovely all wood fence.
