We are at Gamble Plantation State Park in Ellenton (near Palmetto), Florida. Here you can visit the only remaining plantation with mansion in peninsular Florida. It was built back in the 1850’s for milling sugar cane to sugar and molasses that was shipped there from the Manatee River to New Orleans. Here are a few views inside the two story tabby (homemade concrete blocks) house. In this lower view, you can clearly see the tabby concrete floor in the kitchen area. This was made of local burned ground up shells, sand, lime, and the shells themselves for a strong concrete.
Very nice post, fantastic photos.
Waoo Nice View Thnks for share.
