In the Ohio and Erie Canal Museum in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, there was a map of nearby Akron. This was from 1870 and shows in the bottom part the canal of the Ohio and Erie with some canal packet boats and locks. At this time in history, the canal system was nearing its tourist purpose as most freight was now being moved by trains across America.
