Across from the entrance of Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondacks at the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) meet was a nice small lake called Church Pond. Here is a small pond connecting to other ponds through a series of canals that goes out to Osgood Pond. Here on Church Pond we find a great place to paddle because the hills and tall cathedral white pine trees shelter the water leaving it calm and flat most of the time. The pond goes around Saint John’s Episcopal Church and if you get out and look around you will find the Paul Smith family gravesites.
It looks very quiet at that pond. I like the scenery and from the description I wish to be there.
