One of the biggest manufacturers in Peoria, Illinois was Caterpillar tractors and construction equipment. They are famous and known the world over for quality and producing the best construction equipment on Earth. Besides the factory in town, there is a large museum for just Caterpillar downtown. Here you can see the first “tractors” or bulldozers they produced such as this gray one. Note the distinctive early and curvy “Caterpillar” logo on the front.
