When paddling back to shore on Stillwater Lake (Reservoir) in the Adirondacks near Eagle Bay, we came across many ghostly grey trees. These had died and lost their needles and were in stark contrast to the Fall foliage all around the colorful shore. The canoeing was an outing of the Chapter One portion of the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association and it was a rainy and chilly day, but lots of fun.
