I don’t need expensive or luxurious items to find happiness and enjoyment. Over the years, I have learnt to find joy and contentment in the things that are already in front of me. Sometimes I forget this but during my happy moments, I remember and I am overwhelmed with love and gratitude for life and everything around me.
I find these things to be perfect and they are a gentle reminder that I don’t need to buy stuff to be happy, excited and content:
- Meditation
- Chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra
- Reading one of the books from my small library
- A cup of green tea relished slowly
- A hug from my son
- Writing a poem
- Evening walk with my father
- Going to the temple and having darshan of Sri Sri Radha Madhav
- A quiet and serene morning
- Writing daily reflections in my journal
- Listening to Harinam Sankirtan
- The present moment
- That connection with someone special
- Raindrops on roses
- Family
- Clouds in the sky
- Chirping of birds
- Hope for the future
- Smile and laughter
- Spending time in blissful solitude
- Praying in gratitude
