Snow is white
but blood is red
here is the warm bed
wished I could be in that
overloaded by quilts
and a lot of love
with a fireplace burning
and warming all ahead
in the morning
a ski slope welcomes
with a smoldering coffee
cup in palms
as I look at the yummy
breakfast
of ham, bacon, eggs
and croissants
a warm shower
is what I may take
and then wander out
in white wilderness
where carefree
I spend the day
laboring the slopes
but then where
is that spot of blood
on the white of the snow
it is of that innocent
whose snow trip
I stole!
Shame to me and shame to my generations
they would never forgive me for this!
Better I would have been
in that concrete hovel
and awaited my honest turn!
