My little home
surrounded by hedge
older than home
somebody picked
and dropped my house
within
in this dense
boundary of bushes
lives several birds
their nests
neatly
ensconced
I have seen their
generations born
tweet and crackle
and what not
from the whites
of eggs to flapping
young birds
they have grown with me
over years
they left homes
in the middle of it all
for better climates et al
did not chase their migrations
as I was on many of my own
now that I need rest
I am back
and so is the hedge
and I am trying
to recognize
my own old friends
tweeting back!
