There were no less than three oil paintings by Georgia O’Keeffe (1887-1986) at the St Pete Museum of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Some of her most famous paintings were her series of eight poppies. This museum has one one the most iconic and famous of these painted in 1927. The Poppy is closely cropped and large and O’Keeffe said “one rarely takes the time to really see a flower”.
