Gemeentemuseum 05 (2014)

This is one of the pastel drawings I made of the Gemeentemuseum at The Hague, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands, construed by the famous dutch architect Berlage. It’s one of Holland’s finest museum and famous throughout the world by its big Mondriaan collection – Victory Boogie Woogie among others. I made 3 previous pastels, transcending from impressionism to cubism. Looking back 3 years now I see that my style of cubism is all about a plausible atmospheric depth but still styling planes into abstraction, rather than following the multi perspectivism by Picasso and Braque.

Pastel drawing on Canson Mi-Teintes Touch paper (47 x 62 x 0.1 cm)
