Conquistador Founder Statue in Saint Augustine

There is a bronze statue in front of the Lightner Museum of Pedro Menendez De Aviles in Saint Augustine, Florida. It is of the Spanish Conquistador and Adelantado of Florida. An Adelantado is a governor of a province in Spain or of a Spanish colonial province. He was here in 1574 ( yes…445 years ago) and founded the city of Saint Augustine. You have to love his coat, collar and boots!
