In beautiful downtown Pass-A-Grille there is a very old house that used to be the homestead of Zephaniah Phillips. He was one of the first people to live on the outer barrier islands in 1868. He lived from 1837-1903 and in the 20th century when the house foundation was re-excavated they found a Spanish olive jar from the original colony of Spanish that were there in the late 1700’s.
