We are at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at the entrance from the North Carolina side. Here is the Oconaluftee Visitor Center and the large meadow and original village there on a beautiful river. There are many buildings and barns here including this wonderful log cabin with a porch and stone chimney. We will have to explore this area in depth. Notice how the roof shingles at the peak overlap in their traditional style. I love the natural splitwood picket fence too.
