In Saint Augustine, Florida the Hotel Alcazar built by Henry Flagler in the 1870’s has been turned into the Lightner Museum of History and Art. In one large interior chasm like room, there was a magnificent swimming pool. It occupied the entire 120′ x 50′ room base and had waterfalls going into it and large tiled locker rooms at the end. There were beautiful arches and stairs for the hotel guest to enter the pool. Now the pool is drained and the room is a dining room for catering at the Lightner Museum.
