This is the second of three churches in the Cades Cove loop road in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee. There are many farms with log buildings and barns, mills and homes. This is the second church you come across and is called the Cades Cove Missionary Baptist Church. It was founded in 1839 when this valley area between the mountains was flourishing. This building is built on large hewn timbers placed directly on rocks as a foundation. It has a nice cemetery behind it with famous residents resting there.
