Inside the Grotto Cave at the National Shrine Grotto

We were just outside the National Shrine Grotto Cave at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland and we all want to know what is on the mysterious inside of the cave?  I walked up to the edge of the cave and peered inside and took a few photographs. There were hundreds of votive candles in there and outside to one side of the cave was another bank of votive candles. It was a magical place of reverence.
