So what is this smaller structure in front of the two story log house at Luray Valley Village in Virginia? It is a small log structure with openings on the sides to let air pass through and dry the corn cobs inside. The cirn crib structure is built up on stones to prevent rot and keep out mice and other rodents. I have even seen wide metal discs at the corners to block rodents.
