Fences at the Oconaluftee Village

At the Oconaluftee Visitor Center in the Great Smoky Mountains on the Blue Ridge Skyway in North Carolina,  there is a lovely village you can explore. The buildings are mostly log with wood shingle roofs and stone fireplaces. The entire village is surrounded by wood fences and there were even ancient picket fences around some houses. The fences both kept the livestock in and the Elk grazing in the meadow out.
