After entering the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at the North Carolina side you come across the Oconaluftee Visitor Center and the large meadow and original village there. This was a tiny wooden barn made of logs and the ends were dovetailed and still holding together from the late 1800’s. Even the fences were as original with wood slats and interlocking pieces. The roof on the barn also has the typical overlapping shingles at the top.
