On the last night of the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) meet at Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondacks of New York state there is a giant “Paddle By”. This Paddle By has all the wooden canoe paddlers go by the main grand stand on Lower Saint Regis Lake in front of the Student Union and they raise their paddles in salute as the grand master discusses the canoe, maker and paddler on the loud speakers. They finally all assemble out on the water in a group photo.
