Owens-Thomas House Side View

Historic downtown Savannah, Georgia looking at the 1816 Owens-Thomas house where Layfayette stayed. On the side you can see the a balcony held up by 4 green Acanthus leafed supports. These were custom made cast iron pieces (huge) that were used for strength and longevity as they won’t rot. Many moldings , columns and accents in Savannah houses were cast iron. The white columns above, moldings and fence were cast iron also.
