My homeland

This is the composition of a boy from his mother tongue. He wrote about his country in Serbia. This country does not have much material wealth, but it has this heart, and even more, enough for the whole world. In this country I was born, the ant Rasa. And I’m fine. I do not need gold, but I need golden ears of wheat. I have a soft meadow and a flower on it five times bigger than me. Right next to that flower is my ants, mine, my parents and the ants of my two hundred brothers and sisters. There I was born, two hundred first. There is always a crumb of bread on this precious land. Above our ants, the sky is blue, clear and wide. You can not look at such a width. But in Serbia there is something even greater than the sky, even more endless than eternity and cosmos, that is the heart. I did not see such a wide width in my ant natured life. This heart has so much heat to melt the Northern Hemisphere.

In this country, I have a river, and another, and a hundred. However, I have no sea, but I do not need it. What would I do with this huge blue? Serbia has wheat fields full of gold, orchards and yellow, juicy fruits. Here is a fertile land near flooded rivers from the rain. This country has bright people and those high mountains, whose top can not touch my ankle with a foot. There are cheerful and miserable children here. She would do everything, but she would not learn the accents and accidents. Sometimes I come to them and crunch their snack. It’s really wonderful, but, somehow, I always fear the soles of their shoes. Just to not learn the fate and accents. Sometimes I come to them and crunch their snack. It’s really wonderful, but, somehow, I always fear the soles of their shoes. Just to not learn the fate and accents. Sometimes I come to them and crunch their snack. It’s really wonderful, but, somehow, I always fear the soles of their shoes. Whatever, I’m beautiful here. My life is full of ascites and falls, just like in people who we call giants in an earthly world. In this wonderful, rich and happy Serbia, there is room for everyone, even for me, a small ant Rasha.

  1. I didn’t score very well in the quiz but enjoyed doing it. When I was growing up, Serbia was then part of the former Yugoslavia. I don’t know much about it as an autonomous republic. Great post.
