November 1st is the Feast of All Saints in the Roman Catholic Church. I’m not talking about the football team from New Orleans but the saints in Heaven.
The term “saints” is used in two different ways. In the Bible it refers to all followers of Jesus Christ but, in the Roman Catholic and Eastern churches, its meaning has changed over time to mean, specifically, those in Heaven. The process of canonization, by which a person is declared to be a saint, is essentially a process of determining that the person is in Heaven.
If you think of the church as a family, God is the Father, Mary the mother and Jesus as the first-born Son. The saints are our older brothers and sisters.

Yes, but since those times a lot of things have changed. We also have a lot of saints and their holidays are pretty much at the same time as yours, only names are different. For example, yours Halloween is ours St. Luke’s Day.
