Michigan is the 26th U.S. state and has the nickname of the “Great Lakes State”. The shores of the state touch four of the five Great Lakes. Michigan is an Ojibwa (Chippewa) Indian word that means “great lake”. The state is unusual in that it consists of two parts – the Upper Peninsula and the Lower Peninsula.     • Nice score. Sorry about the answers but you know when I create these quizzes I have to practically go over them several times just to get all my questions and answers in and then I just have to hope for the best Lena. I do not know if it is this site that makes it difficult or something to do with my PC.
