      And I guess, you’re right, these aren’t the topic most people would talk about

      • Right. We all attended what was mostly a Chinese church. We talked about our faith, our lives, and what was important to us. That’s why I knew about the red envelope. Also, I eat a lot of Chinese food since we often went out to lunch together at Chinese restaurants. The Japanese and Koreans also loved Chinese food. We never really discussed food or buildings.

    • My idea of “dialect” (Cantonese, Hokkien…blah) are very blur because we just eat everything “Chinese” lol, but I know Cantonese are famous for their nutrious soup!!

      Japanese!! I love Japanese (with exception of nadou) and Korean (not all of them)!!
      I also can’t take spicy too well, I’ll start to have running nose if I eat something too spicy and it gets really messy :p
