    • Well, I agree that it is not inexpensive. This post does not say that it is inexpensive. The point is that schools sometimes say it is too expensive when in reality a music education is very valuable.

    • Thanks kindly for checking out this post! I didn’t mean to imply that music is inexpensive. I was just trying to make the point that school systems sometimes say it is too expensive for them to implement a music program, when in fact it is too valuable for them to neglect so they should find a way to provide for students. Usually, where there’s a will there’s a way.

We provided our children some music education throughout their childhood and young adulthood at the expense of other options because it was the most valuable choice we could make. Because the costs go beyond just the money even minimal music lessons aren’t a choice some have but school systems can find a way to help fill that gap and teach kids who are interested in music that they can find a way to work toward their goals.

      • Thanks my parents were too busy paying bills. However, our school had music teachers usually ones that taught you how to sing. I had a Ukulele and liked playing that when I had it. I don’t know what happened to it. I practiced by a book no teacher. They said I sounded OK when I practiced.
