Working Hard On Pinterest

I’ve been trying to catch up with many online jobs I got behind on when I was preparing for an out-of-town guest a couple of weeks ago. Now that the emotional high is over, I’m trying to get back in the grove. I’m rearranging my Zazzle stores and adding headers and covers for my collections and categories. It’a a never-ending job, but I’m trying to get ready for the December selling season.

Today I’ve been trying to add sections to some of my Pinterest boards. The downside of merging boards and making the old boards just sections is that you lose any followers the the old boards had. The upside is that it’s easier to pin new items when there aren’t as many boards to look through. This is especially hard for me since I have both a personal and a business page. I have made some boards group  boards that I can pin to from either site. I can only edit them, though, from the site I started them on. I have a lot of boards on each site. If you have a Pinterest site, you may also be considering the ups and downs of merging boards or adding sections. Please offer your opinion on the poll questions below. I appreciate all feedback.

The image shows the sections I created on my Animals Who Live with Us Board on my business page. It is still a work in progress — especially the Zazzle part. I have only just begun to put the products there.

  1. I am using Pinterest to get more traffic for my blog. If I have enough time, I would create new pins for my posts which are not getting enough traffic. I also delete those pins that are not performing well.

  2. If you’re going to be on Pinterest, take advantage of everything that is offered to make finding your content easier. The pinboards did not used to have sections but they have them now so use them. Anything that will help you rise to the top, do it! It is so easy to drown in the Pinterest ocean.

    • It’s for posting images by subject with links and even your referral links if you are trying to market products (but not all affiliates, including Amazon, allow you to post their affiliate links there.) It’s an addictive site. You might want to check it out just for fun.

    • Zazzle is a print-on-demand site used by artists and photographers for marketing their work. One designs products and puts them into the Zazzle marketplace. As people buy the products, Zazzle creates and ships them and pays royalties to the designers. They also have an affiliate program which designers can join to increase their earnings.
