In our country, we celebrate Women’s Day, but I do not prepare anything special
Same here, dear friend.
Great post, women have often been put down and today everyone is asking for their personal rights. My view is that we need to treat all with dignity and respect. Women are important and deserve to be valued but as a woman Im also biased.
Thank you very much for sharing your perspective!
Thank you very much for stopping by! 🙂
We do mention the day but its not really being celebrated. (There maybe sales, I believe but not on a big scale)
I believe the day is “born” because of gender inequality in the past, and sadly, its still happening somewhere now. So, I guess I’m for Woman’s day and not so much of Men’s.
Just my 2 cents.
Thanks for sharing your perspective! The situation is similar here. Actually, we don’t have Mother’s Day here, so usually kids give craft works and flowers for their mothers on this day.
I assume you don’t have Father’s day too?
We have both here, but seems that Mother’s day is more “popular” and celebrated.
Unfortunately, neither of the holidays is celebrated here.
I feel like it is a waste of time. I do not participate.
Thank you for your comment!
I haven’t heard of this day, so guessing it is not celebrated here. I don’t disagree with it though….great poll!
Thank you very much for your comment!
to be married to a woman as a mother who works a new life ….. I need every day, not just one day of the year ………….. I still love the holidays, and that day my My husband and daughter buy me a symbolic gift
That’s nice, thank you so much for sharing your opinion!
Unfortunately, I do not understand what is celebrated through women’s day. If it’s about equality, its needs become relative… on the one hand, if we want to be equal, then we do not need to be treated differently, on the other hand, male domination is indeed too great on earth.
…what he said. I’ll elaborate by saying there already is a men’s day on the calendar- the other 364
After he sharpened my statement, then I felt the need to clarify his point. What he means is 364 days 23 hours + 50 minutes. The rest is a spectacle for men. That’s the dominance of men, but if I decide, I will not even divide it 50:50 but 100% should we enjoy together. Unfortunately, he is the decisive one.
If it were up to me, a level playing field for everyone. We’d be living in a merit based society…
It’s wise and cool! You deserve to be the CEO of civilization!
Thanks for sharing your perspective, guys!
Women’s Day is historical date, anyway…:-)
Thanks for sharing your opinion!
You’re welcome, Ellie! I like to read your posts.
I like this holiday, but here in Spain is not celebrated. We gather together the Bulgarians.
Thanks for sharing about Spain!
I really don’t think need any more holidays to recognize anyone, just my opinion. We should all recognize each other every day.
Thank you so much for sharing your perspective!
You are very welcome.
equality is the hardest word for many people and the hardest action for others. For Woman’s day I always pack my wife’s lunch to remind her how much I care.
You are the best husband Doc. 🙂
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing!
From my own perspective, that depends on the country where I live in, equal opportunities are the law and the norm. Maybe society still tends towards sexism, but gender equality is still supported and protected by the majority of people.
In other countries, the situation is different and we should fight for the right of women every day, not just be reminded once a year (common argument, I know, urgh).
I think I made a mistake by selecting “no” to the third question, because I didn’t consider the male chauvinism that takes place elsewhere.
I still think there’s no need for a Men’s Day, we should commemorate and celebrate the facts, the events, the victories, not one gender, race or age group just for the sake of doing so, that’s an end in itself.
Women’s Day should be about recognizing and commemorating the battles for women’s rights and gender equality, it shouldn’t be about women as a gender opposed to men… from my own humble point of view.
Thank you so much for sharing your opinion, you made a very good point!
