Why Eat More Fruit?

It’s a funny thing that synonyms for fruit include the words reward and benefit. Eating fruit for our health is all profit to our bodies.

Some of the returns are obvious: more fiber, healthy carbs, and safe snacking. Other effects of including them in our daily diet might surprise because fruits are nutrient powerhouses.

To help you decide to put more fruit on your daily menu factor in the many choices of flavor and texture, natural packaging making fresh fruit the best take along food, and the fact that their important nutrients are under consumed.

Check out the poll  to evaluate your fruit preferences and let us know in the comments below if you will be adding more health to your diet.

    • It is a smart move, yet in putting this post together I realized I need to include more than I do in daily menus! Thanks for checking this post out and letting us hear from you.

  1. Excellent poll, Roberta. You’ve just prompted me to eat a couple of clementines!
Have you ever seen anyone eat the skin of a kiwi? I don’t remember ever seeing that 🙂

    • Thanks very much for letting me know the goal of the post was accomplished in the first comment! :- ) Yes, I have seen one person eat kiwi skin and all. It was stunning, but he does do that and says he knows of others who do the same. They are military…perhaps made of tougher stuff than the rest of us! :- )

      • Well, next time I eat a kiwi (which may be some time, as they don’t grow here, and imported ones usually are terribly underripe), I will at least try a bit of the skin. I have a reasonably tough tummy, but I don’t imagine the kiwi skin would feel very nie in the mouth or on the way down.
Citrus skin is edible too, I imagine, as I’ve seen it fed to cattle (it adds a nice creamy shade to their milk), and I’ve seen chimps eat banana skin. And banana leaves too, come to think of it 🙂
