Donation drives get underway when there is a calamity but no one knows where that money goes. Why should the money donated by you go without a name? And why should the government get credit for what you have donated?
I did not donate to the PM’s fund but instead helped a couple of people here whose small businesses came to a standstill with the lockdown saga.
Donating directly is far better than donating to charities where money just vanishes.

Do you donate directly?

Yes

No

I also always donate directly.
Food that is meant for the poor is grabbed by the rich and the money spent on that food is from donations received.
We donate directly but we have also very good charity , Zakaat system
There are many that see that the money goes where it should but not easy to find such NGOs
That is great that you donated directly to help some out. When I am at the supermarket and they ask if we want to donate I do that.
One never knows whether the money donated goes to the right people.
Grace,
I believe that is true when you see people begging on the streets. We do not know if they have money and are just trying to get more from people. Now, since I do not go to the Wailing Wall or in town I do not see them.
In my case I know the condition of those who I helped. And do you know food packets are being distributed at long last by the government apparently from donations received but the PM has called it Modi kit and Modi is his name. Disgusting to say the least
