What’s Making You Gain Weight?

Of course, it has to do with the food you eat and how your body processes it. It’s a fact that some foods. When  you are stressed you crave different foods and your body processes the food differently.  So maybe for at least two meals a day we should focus on foods that lower the stress hormones. It is hard to change your entire diet in one day and very stressful. So let’s take a look at how we can mix things up a little at a time and get some great results.

Let’s say your dinner plate was steak, baked potato, green beans and garlic toast. Replace it with steak, ½ baked potato, ½ green beans, asparagus and garlic toast. You added one extra stress reducing food. (Potato and asparagus are both considered stress reducing foods).

Smaller portions and more options seem to work best in all the studies I found to research.

Turnips were on the list. It occured to me I don’t even know how to prepare a turnip. So I studied up and the suggestion was to add ½ turnip to your regular mashed potatoes for a little different flavor and a great health benefit. We have done that and now we mix it up that way about ½ the time.

We found that grated turnips go well with grated potatoes when we make hash browns.

There are many other great choices to add in and reduce that stress hormone. If the interest is here I will continue on and let you know of more options.
