What's For Christmas Dinner?

For many people, Christmas dinner is a special feast. It may be the only real feast some families have, or it can be one of very few. Granted, there are people who eat no differently at Christmastime than any other time, but for many, the Christmas feast is part of the holiday celebration.

When it comes to Christmas dinner, people are also diverse in what they have as the main course. This can be based on personal tastes or what is commonly eaten on other days. For instance, people who eat ham quite often may not eat ham on Christmas because it is ‘ordinary’. Finances can also have a great deal to do with it. Tradition can have a bearing, too.

Even the timing of the Christmas feast varies. Some people eat the feast on Christmas Eve, others eat it on Christmas day. Still others eat the mean on a different day, especially if someone is working or if there is company at the home.

  1. Christmas is a time for family gathering, but here we have work. so I am just asking my BF to go to a special restaurant, maybe buffet on Christmas Day Dinner, I usually have something to eat during the eve because I skpe or facetime them and have dinner and party with them.

    • I’d never even thought of having online guests, though I’d imagine that it would make the cleanup a lot easier. LOL

      Many times in the past, we’ve had to work things around someone’s work schedule. This year will be an exception. I’m retired, the church is closed for Christmas day, and our daughter is off work that day.
