This was an exhibit at this year’s Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy in London’s Piccadilly. The title of the piece, by Bob and Roberta Smith, is “My Son Changed My Art”.
I like it for being so original and unlike anything else in the Exhibition. Whether I would want to have it in my home in another matter altogether.
Most of the pieces at the Summer Exhibition are offered for sale. The price of this one is £15,000.

I struggle with three things in life.
The value of art.
The value of a “sports contract.”
and finally
the fact that I think both are way overvalued.
I’m not sure that I would struggle with the third item on your list – it sounds perfectly reasonable to me to think that way!
It is something that has bothered me for years. I also recoil sometimes when I see a painting for 100 million, and a sports star getting 100 million dollars.
Meanwhile, the teacher, that started both the sports star and the artist, is woefully underpaid.
Maybe you have to keep it before its value increases.
The piece is good. The price isn’t right. It’s quite expensive.
I guess that the prices of art will be the next bubble that bursts like the prices of real estate over 10 years ago.
It all comes down to supply and demand and what people are prepared to pay. Some of the prices at the exhibition were even more ridiculous than this one!
