I like figs and I have always eaten it but recently I read that when the wasps pollinate the figs, often these insects are trapped inside that fruit.
It seems that any fig has at least one dead wasp inside it. But fear nothing because you still will not find an entire wasp – when one of these insects dies inside the fig, an enzyme in the fruit breaks down its carcass into protein.In other words the fig ‘eats’ the wasp, and makes the animal an integral part of its composition.
In fact, most farmers get to buy wasps bags to control the amount of those insects that each plant eats.
Now that I know this I don’t know if I will keep eating this fruit because now I know what I am eating.

One of my father’s favorite treats was a fig newton. You darn Tootin’. He liked fig newtons! LOL. Every time I eat a fig newton I think of my dad.

Never heard this. My Grandmother had many trees and made preserves all the time. I never hate them but others did.
I have been eating figs for many years (since I was a child) and I like it very much.

At first, I was a little bit nauseated but as I have always eaten it and nothing bad happens to me I think I will keep eating it, besides that, I read somewhere that insects are the future meals 😀
