in the rising sun
to the edge of the rock
to the edge of the sky
shielding eyes against the sun.
The shadows play like kittens
close and the far.
Each one dancing just
behind
and ahead
then gone.
Will they reappear
the shadows?
FOr now they are gone
will the appear
again
as we seek them
chase them
in the blazing sun.
We hear the clarion call
of the shadows
as they dance like sirens
on the rocks.
Find me they whisper
and we lean away
and shielding our eyes from the sun
we sit and wait
for time.

Have you ever caught your shadow?

Yes

No

Why chase the shadows
When they are as elusive as truth?
Sit still, my friend
Be quiet and listen to the silence
Like the sunflower
Face the sun instead
And let the shadows disappear

But what if your original goal was to catch your shadow?
Goals, according to my uncle, Bruce Lee, only serve as target – – – as destination. But the bone of the matter is in the execution, the journey itself. I do not know what 2018 caused me, but that year added something in my life that made me feel comfortable with everything, even unpredictability.
The thought of a comfortable pixie loose in the world is a bit nerve-wracking.
Actually all kidding aside I am happy that 2018 brought you dreams and happiness. You, Carol and some new friends here on Virily are the happy part of comments for me!
Ahhhh, 2018 has broken my spirit first, made me cry buckets of tears and would have drove insane a weak mortal. However, from there, I learned the sweetest lessons and I gained freedom from certain karmas ?. Long story, Doc. But the gist is that in life we will not achieve any growth without pain ?. Carol Taylor or Carol DM? Both Carols I love. Carol T is as feisty as me, Carol D is dainty as a lady.
Carol T was the one I was referring to. CarolDM is mad at me right now because I called her out for being HYPER negative on the Virily facebook group. As the top poster on the site only posting negative stuff for the admins, is yelling.
Ouch! Time for the pixie to zip her mouth. In misunderstanding among friends or siblings, I always stay in the middle.
I would never drag a Pixie into a fight. Or for that matter would I expect you to enter the fray.

That is one side of influencers we can’t measure with numbers. What does reading another author inspire?
I do wonder about that sometimes.
For me, the answer is to understand the interests, insights, and knowledge of other writers in addition to increasing my knowledge and learning to appreciate anything I read.
What drives people is interesting. You can chase that for the rest of your life and still be standing where you are now.
That’s why we don’t need to chase others drives but ourselfes… who knows if someone else will direct our drive without us knowing it.
