WARNING! 11,000 SCIENTISTS SIGNED A DECLARATION TWO DAYS AGO- THIS IS THE END TIMES

The jokers, jibers, and naysayers, among us here on Virily had better start laughing at me about now, since tomorrow may be too late to poke fun at this article.

Dr. Thomas Newsome from the University of Sydney is the co-author of a paper published in BioScience that outlines the data that shows it is clear we are facing a climate disaster right now.

The declaration, signed up on 4th November 2019 has been endorsed by more than 11,000 scientists from 150+ countries. Dr. Newsome outlines the six steps we can try and take to reduce the impact of climate change.

These 11,000 environmental scientists have been doing their homework and have reached this conclusion:”The world’s people face “untold suffering due to an imminent climate crisis” unless there are major transformations to global society.

“We declare clearly and unequivocally that planet Earth is facing a climate emergency,” it states. “To secure a sustainable future, we must change how we live. [This] entails major transformations in the ways our global society functions and interacts with natural ecosystems.”

There is no time to lose, the scientists say: “The climate crisis has arrived and is accelerating faster than most scientists expected. It is more severe than anticipated, threatening natural ecosystems and the fate of humanity.”

The statement is published in the journal BioScience on the 40th anniversary of the first world climate conference, which was held in Geneva in 1979.

The statement was a collaboration of dozens of scientists and endorsed by further 11,000 from 153 nations. The scientists say the urgent changes needed include ending population growth, leaving fossil fuels in the ground, halting forest destruction and slashing meat-eating.”

Prof William Ripple, of Oregon State University and the lead author of the statement, said he was driven to initiate it by the increase in extreme weather he was seeing.

A key aim of the warning is to set out a full range of “vital sign” indicators of the causes and effects of climate breakdown, rather than only carbon emissions and surface temperature rise.”

  1. I am not sure if I am competent enough to comment on all these aspects. But the human population needs to be controlled. This is the root cause of all other problems like pollution, water scarcity, threat to wildlife etc.

  2. I really wish people would act now rather than just talk about it.
Starting with the use of cars, your existing car can easily be turned into an electric one.

Why do they want to create new cars when all they have to do is to swop the existing engine for electronics?

In the future all they will have to do is maintain the car frame…

However, setting up places to charge electric cars will be a challenge but solar panels can also be set up ….

  3. The fact is that the world is spiralling downward at a fast rate. Not only have we to deal with destruction of nature by humans but there are external threats. Not aliens. The wandering space objects. Some might hit the world in future. The Antarctica’s frozen ice sheet is another threat if a large percentage of it melts. The moon, the sun, the black hole even our own earth whereby in some instances we don’t have control.
We can do our best to save mother Earth but we can’t do much nor undo much destruction we have caused. It’s a predictable phenomenon – the earth won’t survive for thousands of years.

    • I agree, Carol. I hope the biggest miracle happens, which is if people can just for once, stand together and do what we have to do. Insite of this, my friend, have yourself a fantastic weekend.

  4. Good article Indexer. What a mess we are in. If we stopped eating beef, stopped fracking, stop fossil fuel from being pumped out and elected officials that don’t have their head up their behinds, then we might have a chance.

    • Hello Kim, you hit the nail on the head there, it’s really that simple. But will we? Afraid not, there really has to be a huge catastrophe for most of the global greed to start subsiding. Your own Barrier Reef is dying, farming dams and lakes have disappeared, Aussies are seriously concerned about climate change, perhaps you should start a lobby group. By the way, it’s Tranquilpen, not Indexer. Thanks for reading.

      • Thank you Andre, yes I knew it was you, but I had just commented on something Indexer wrote that was similar to this post. Freudian slip? or old age? Sorry about that. True about the barrier reef, so sad. The frogs, which doc spoke about. The dryness, our water shortage in the west. Poor Aussies are baking. We are loosing our beaches. We used to have a lot of sand before you hit water, this is not so any more. No, I am afraid we wont change. Too many sheeple.

  5. I think that the reality around us requires action.

    1. the decimation of global bird populations is horrifying.
    2. Frogs are disappearing from the world. (frogs, are climate indicators)
    3. it is no longer the time to talk about this, it is the time of action.

    • Yes, Nela13, many of us do believe this but just looking at my poll above, at least one of us thinks it’s fake and Global warming is not going to happen. Even if some believe the story of Noah was symbolic, let’s just use the stats as a for instance, what was it again? Oh, yes One family saved! So don’t get your hopes up, we’re likely gonna burn. And as you read, it’s going to be soon. I take no pleasure in saying this because it’s my butt that’s going to fry too. It reminds me of a possible calamity that was going to take place in the factory where I was the head of Safety & Security. We were building warships and attack vehicles for the military. I had received information from a dependable undercover agent, that the Cubans were planning to blow up a strategic machine in our factory. A high rofile meeting was to take place on that same day. I went to the Director of operations who was sitting at the head of the boardroom table and asked to see him in private, but he was a wise-ass and insisted I give my report in front of all the delegates. After hearing the report, he laughed and apologized for my stupidity and that I constantly see spies and saboteurs. Well, half an hour later an anti-personnel mine exploded near the machine. I had, in spite of his ridicule, evacuated the entire area around the strategic machine as well as alert the army bomb squad who, safely detonated it in a special anti-blast container, outside the building. He had more than egg on his face and was soon transferred to another low-profile branch.

    • And what notice was taken of those warnings? Nowhere near enough, which is why it will be more difficult now to take the necessary steps than it would have been a decade ago.

        • Al Gore was by no means the first person to start ringing the alarm bells, but he was among the first to be taken both seriously and mockingly, the latter probably because of his over-the-top approach and use of stats that were open to challenge.

    • Yes, you are right, unfortunately he had to tarnish the truth with fake shots and he went out and bought millions of dollars of real estate at bargain-basement prices. Many think it’s all fake, so, KUDOS to them I couldn’t care less.

    • Thank you and Indexer, for carrying the message further Grace. Nothing I could add would improve on your comment. Regards, Andre’ PS. Did you notice in the poll above, someone actually thinks all is well?

      • I can die in peace atleast as I have a systematic jungle created around me. I do not even pull out wild trees that crop up.

That is what life is. As long as someone can breathe they think all is well.

  6. Headlines warning of imminent disaster are usually unhelpful, but the message is true enough – action needs to be taken now to avoid disaster down the line.

That means action by nations who can make a real difference, especially the United States and China. That means not electing politicians who like to pretend that it is all a Communist plot to make Americans poorer.
