If there was one thing that I could teach my grandchildren before the age of eight it would be the difference between a want and a need. The purpose is not to squash all their big dreams. The purpose is to make certain the needs are met so their dreams can flourish. We are (hopefully if you will participate) learn if we as a whole agree about the differences between a need and a want.
My children and grandchildren have already taken the same series. I can’t say that I did well at teaching them my standards and still I know what their standards are currently. Thumbs up is a need Thumbs down is a want.

Yes, wants and needs are important to discern which one is most important.
Thank you for taking the time to comment and it is always nice to have someone agree!
That is always an interesting discussion, determining the point at which needs become wants, or vice versa. Some people think they absolutely need the latest iPhone, as much as a roof over their head, for example!
That is such a true statement and I only use a phone to make phone calls.
That is mainly what I use my for too – calls and texts, and I do find that the camera is very handy, so for photos too. But not a constant stream of needless selfies! Most of the apps on my phone I don’t use.
