Wander project further into the tone of home…

I have been posting a lot about the tone of home lately. Again. It is something that means different things to different people. Home is also different depending on where you re in life. I sometimes wonder as I consider what the tone of the home is. The link to Albert’s post is here https://virily.com/virily_poll/tone-365-photos-challenge-236/. The tone of home resonates with me. Not from a musical composition form. Rather, the quiet. There is a quiet that you find when you are home. It isn’t something you will feel when you are in a hotel, or a friends house, or for that matter a relatives house. There are always noises in the darkness that surrounds us.

When we are home the noises fade, and we no longer notice them. They move away from where we are to go perhaps visit a hotel. Musically the tone of the home is more of a blended melody. It carries the high and low notes that we live with. Home has segments with great crescendo’s, and then there are those segments of the tone that are quiet beyond the simple musical quiet a quiet that is beyond silence. Those are the times when thinking explodes around you. Home is where the very ideas take wing and fly to us. Those are the moments where home is more than where you are. Home is what you seek, what you want perhaps well not perhaps it is truly what you need. Home is the moment we are nurtured.

Home is refreshing. Home is nurturing. I remember traveling and sitting in airports knowing, all was ok I was heading home. I didn’t have to worry, didn’t have to be nervous I was going home. The journey to home is sometimes much longer than the original outbound journey. The delays that may be minutes. Feel like hours when your destination is home. That moment, however, that tone that comes when you walk through the door, that is the wonder of home. The tone of the home is a mix of people, air movement, dogs and other pets and animals moving in quiet harmony. The fabric of what we are wound into the very music that is our lives playing out as the tone of the home.

  1. You are right Doc. Another reason I say there is no place like home.
I do all of my thinking here, sometimes good, sometimes not.
But it is home just the same.
