Visiting the Donkey Again

Sometimes just riding around seeing a change in scenery can help change your mood. I did just that thing today. I visited the donkey I saw back in March that lives not far from my home. She had a baby at the time. Well now the baby is all grown up and they sold it. But the Momma is still around and is such a sweetie. I love all animals. They have a way of change your mood and taking you away to another level. Sort of like my sunsets, nature, etc. Animals are amazing i that they don’t have a care int he wild except where their next meal will come from. It was great to get out and see this face again. The photo to the left was taken in March when she had her baby. The second one was today without her baby. Do you have a preference? I loved them both.

  1. You have a very nice and humane view of the animal species that share the planet with us. This is so humane of you. We grew up with the documentaries “The Last Oasis” and “These Wonderful Animals” directed by Dusan Lajovic.
    Beautiful movies.

  2. I just love all animals except maybe for snakes (sorry about that). Of course, cats and dogs are at the top of my love list but horses, donkeys, moose, deer (which sometime visit our backyard) and even bears (which are being seen roaming the city of Ottawa-Gatineau, Canada lately). This love list is non exhaustive as I can add squirrels and chipmunks (which I sometimes feed), muskrats, wolves, lynx, bobcats etc. etc.
But wow, you are lucky Carol for living not far from an elephant sanctuary. I would just enjoy so much visiting and talking to these big beasts.

  3. I love donkeys. They are such lovely creatures. There’s a horse sanctuary near me that rescues horses and ponies, and they also rescue unwanted or neglected donkeys. It’s so lovely.

    • They truly are. And what wonderful news it is hear to hear of another sanctuary. We have an elephant sanctuary not to far away. A retirement home for the circus elephants. 🙂
