The Ljubljana Zoo also has a number of different species of monkeys. Among them are certainly the most popular chimpanzees. Chimpanzees are a genus of monkeys from the human family. The genus consists of two types: to a more familiar ordinary chimpanzee and to a dwarf chimpanzee or bonobo. Chimpanzees and gorillas are, unlike orangutans, very sociable. They are very developed because of their big brains, but they do not have tail. They use their hands more handily, they climb on climbing from one hand to another or rely on them. They do not have claws but their nails, they have excellent eyesight. They see in colors, which helps them find mature fruits that are very important for them. Their habitat is tropical forests and grasslands. They usually have only one puppy at the same time, since their mother can not breastfeed at the same time and tolerate more puppies for several years. Eating mostly can be digestible vegetable food, and it is well known that they also spoil other animals, mostly invertebrates.

Very curious animals, so smart & funny!!!
I totally agree with you dear Anastasia
Monkeys have special intelligence. I enjoy watching them.
Thanks for seeing and kind comment … they really are very special and interesting to watch
I wish we had monkeys here, they are only at the zoo here
They’re just in the zoo, too
We have many types of monkeys on almost every island, Orangutans are a type of monkey originating from our forest on the island of Kalimantan (Borneo). Orangutans come from the word “Orang Hutan” which mean forest people. They, monkeys have special intelligence indeed.
Oh thanks a friend for a detailed explanation … I am very pleased with the interesting details … and what is the population of Orangutan … will he survive?
In Kalimantan, there may still be around 55,000 individuals but in Sumatra, which may only be around 500 individuals who have dropped dramatically because their land has continued to decline due to many things. In theory, they have been protected by law since 1931, but in practice, many people are still involved in illegal animal trafficking with foreign traders.
These dealers are the biggest problem dear friend … that would have to close everything
You’re so right, dear friend. Another thing that also reduces their population in Sumatra is that they are killed if they search for food in a residential area that incidentally has taken away their land which has actually been declared as an asylum area.
This is similar to us with bears dear friend
They probably have a big and beautiful zoo … in Ljubljana it is smaller
I think the monkeys are very smart animals
I think they are more smart than many people
Animals are very smart and I believe they have great instincts. ?
Thank you too for your kind comment my friend
Monkeys are smart and cute! 🙂
They are really special …smart and very resourceful
We have a few different monkeys in the Auckland Zoo. As far as I know, Spider Monkeys. Pistacho Monkeys, Baboons, I think we had some Orangutangs and there are a few others.
In Ljubljana there are only chimpanzees from big monkeys … there are still some species that are only smaller
We also have tiny monkeys in our zoos as well,
Even small monkeys can be very cute
the last time I was at a zoo, it was to do an anthro report about gorillas
In Ljubljana, gorillas do not have … chimp is the biggest monkey
gorillas are huge, so that’s understandable…
The Ljubljana Zoo is smaller … but since the city is also small and also the state
I think it is nice that even small cities can have zoos. ?
take what you can get…
Exactly, Alex … be pleased with what you have
I love seeing the monkeys at the zoo. Great photos, he posed for you. They are very intelligent.
He continued well and curiously watched what was happening … they were very intimidating
I love watching them… 🙂
I also spent some time with them and watched them
monkeys here live in the forests and there are places here where monkeys roam in the street and anywhere freely.
Where are you living a dear friend?
here in Thailand, in some places the monkeys can freely roam. There is also a festival for monkeys here.
But I already saw this on TV … but they are also very overwhelmed … they also go into flats and cause real devastation
ohh you know where? yes, in one place the windows of the buildings were covered. but this is how Thais respect the monkeys.
And I also know from TV that they respect the monkeys, even if they are doing damage … they are like sacred animals
The Chimpanzees look so cool Lado. The more you describe about how close they are to human beings, I feel sad that we keep our close cousins in cages.
This is really sad only so we will preserve them … they are already dying in nature in the face of the cruel people who are hunting and killing
